H7N9: signficantly increased risk in the next few months?

He Jianfeng, director of infectious disease prevention and control, said, “as expected for several months, the risk of sporadic human infection with H7N9 in Guangdong Province will significantly increase in the future, specifically this winter and next spring.”

He said that between China circulating avian H7N9 avian influenza virus persists due to  poultry farming, distribution, trading and people.  Prevention of exposure to birds may be encouraged by radical changes to the daily management of live poultry markets making a standardized approach to the prevention of H7N9 very effective.
